POSITION SUMMARY

The Accounts Receivable Analyst I will assist in ensuring that the company receives payment for goods and services offered to clients.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

  • • Review sales orders for release within the company’s guidelines. Report the exceptions, the violations, and errors on a real-time basis to the management
    • Prepare credit review package for customer accounts including credit reports, financial statements, bond ratings, 3rd party credit references, payment history, etc.
    • Recommend appropriate credit line limits to accommodate business needs within acceptable risks
    • Periodic review of credit portfolio and individual customer credit limit
    • Conduct credit investigations of accounts upon the request of management
    • Develop and execute collection plan for assigned accounts
    • Contact customers by telephone or letter to effect payment of invoices
    • Assist in resolving customer issues by working with sales department, customer service and company personnel
    • Post cash receipts and process credit card payments via bank portal
    • Perform accounts receivable ledger maintenance as required
    • Prepare audit samples
    • Participate in monthly close process including routine reports for management such as account receivable aging, bad debt reserve, liquidated damage reserve, write-off, and etc.
    • Prepares, posts, verifies, and records customer payments and transactions related to accounts receivable
    • Maintains and updates customer files, including name or address changes, mergers, or mailing attentions
    • Drafts correspondence for standard past-due accounts and collections, identifies delinquent accounts by reviewing files, and contacts delinquent accountholders to request payment
    • Creates reports regarding the current status of customer accounts as requested
    • Researches customer discrepancies and past-due amounts with the assistance of other staff
    • Collaborates with the Collections Manager to reconcile accounts receivable on a periodic (at least bimonthly) basis
    • Assists in generating monthly billing statements based on the general ledger
    • Copies, files, and retrieves materials for accounts receivable as needed
    • Perform other tasks as assigned by Supervisor

SCOPE, PURPOSE, AND FREQUENCY OF CONTACTS
The position requires daily contact with all levels of TWMC and customers including engineering, marketing, factory operations, supply chain, service, and accounting.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • • Associate’s degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or
    • Two years related experience and/or training in a high volume business environment; or
    • Equivalent combination of education and experience

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

As required, based on job responsibilities, education and customer specific needs.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • • Effective written and oral communication and computer skills
    • Proficiency in SAP is a plus
    • Proficiency in Spanish preferred
    • Strong communication
    • People skills are essential for effectively interacting with customers
    • Intermediate to Advanced Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel (Pivot tables & vlookup)

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Respond to inquiries from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Communicate effectively in the presence of top management, customers, trade associations, and other public groups.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Identify a solution to a problem involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

SUPERVISION RECEIVED

General supervision will be provided. Must be a self-starter with the ability to work effectively and take ownership of assigned projects in a fast paced environment.
