POSITION SUMMARY
The Director of Information Systems will plan, coordinate, and direct computer-related activities by determining the technology needs of the company and making hardware and software related decisions to meet those needs.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Establish IT policies, strategies, and standards for operations in US, Canada, and Mexico
- Manage and direct the US IT team and support daily business and operations in Canada and Mexico
- Develop and implement technology roadmap to support business initiatives in IIoT, cloud based customer service, process automation and system integration in all functional areas
- Identify opportunities to improve IT operation efficiency and minimize risks
- Develop goals and objectives for IT team members to support daily operation and future needs
- Develop and manage annual budgets to support business and operation
- Oversees the administration and maintenance of the company’s IT environment and assets, including:
o Infrastructure (servers, switches, routers, and SAN)
o Network and security (SD-WAN, LAN, active directory, and firewall)
o Applications (Citrix, SAP, Exchange, and VMware)
o SAP: application change management and approves release to production
o Telephone system, cell phone system and associated contracts
o Manage local, long distance and SIP telephony contracts
o Engineering software and applications (Catia, Solidworks, 3DExperience, and Smarteam)
o Digital Content Platforms (eCommerce, Website – WordPress CMS)
o Oversees troubleshooting, systems backups, archiving, and disaster recovery and provides support when necessary
o Help desk (IssueTrak)
- Oversee information risk management
- Negotiate and maintain IT related service contracts, software licenses, supervise hardware and software purchases for operations in US, Canada, and Mexico
- Support corporate IT initiatives and system integration
- Other responsibilities, projects and duties as required
SCOPE PURPOSE AND FREQUENCY OF CONTACTS
- The position requires daily contact with all levels of TECO-Westinghouse and customers including engineering, marketing, factory operations, supply chain, service, and accounting.
QUALIFICATIONS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Programming (required), master’s degree (preferred), or related field required
- Minimum of 10 years related experience and/or equivalent combination of education and training
- Minimum of 5 years previous experience managing complex projects and IT staff
- US citizenship is required for work on government contracts
SUPERVISION RECEIVED
Must be a self-starter with the ability to work effectively and take ownership of assigned projects in a fast paced environment.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software
- Thorough understanding of CIS Leadership Principles, programs, policies, activities, and procedures
- Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize work
- Ability to explain technical problems and offer solutions to those without technological training
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Read, write, analyze, and interpret financial reports and legal documents. Respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, and percentages. Apply fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. Work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference.
REASONING ABILITY
Apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Identify a solution to a problem involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
