POSITION SUMMARY
Under general direction of the IT Supervisor, the purpose of this position is to provide technical guidance, and subject matter expert role in Engineering, administrating and maintaining services to support TECO-Westinghouse. This role serves as a lead technical advisor to others employees in the support of systems operations as well as network and desktop computer support with a focus on Customer Support. This is a Senior Technical level position, and involves substantial responsibility for the overall health, operations, and security of all computer networks and servers on TECO-Westinghouse systems. It is the expectation that this position will be able to plan for and solve the most complex Networking issues that may face the Company. In this role, you will work closely assisting with the IT Supervisor, Technical staff and Desktop Support Specialist in fulfilling their respective responsibilities to keep all computer, servers and network appliances and applications functioning company-wide.
SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Provide technical direction and support of project development and/or maintenance of systems.
- Provide technical direction on day-to-day activities in the Network Team.
- In-depth knowledge of routing protocols.
- In-depth knowledge of LAN/WAN communications, network hardware such as Device routers, Ethernet switches, bridges, gateways and firewalls.
- Strong understanding and practical experience with technologies such as SDWAN, and Traffic Engineering.
- Plan, coordinate, and implement network security measures in order to protect data, software, and hardware
- Prepare technical proposals for presentation to the IT Supervisor and management for adding new technologies to the network
- Review user requests for upgrades or additions to the network to assess impact on network performance and provide advice and guidance on the most practical technical approach to meeting user requirements
- Utilize complex network analysis tools to identify and correct problems in the network
- Prepare troubleshooting procedures for restoring the network to optimal performance levels
- Respond, isolate, and resolve network troubles by monitoring alarms and alerts to identify network elements causing network degradation or failure
- Maintain logs and records associated with reported problems or situations
- Assess and document current site network configuration and user requirements utilizing Visio, Microsoft Project, or other network diagramming software.
- Assist IS staff and end-users with technical support of network related activities to meet operational requirements.
- Design, plan, implement, and maintain company wide area networks, local area networks, Internet and Intranet, email systems, firewalls, routers, switches, desktop systems and network infrastructure.
- Install, configure, maintain, and administer all network related software and hardware products.
- Design, plan, implement and maintain company LAN cabling systems to ensure efficiency, effectiveness and timely delivery of services to meet business requirement.
- Evaluate network software products, hardware components, and procedures to provide technical recommendations.
- Diagnose technical problems using problem determination, analysis, resolution methods and network diagnostic tools to provide timely resolution to network problems (hardware, software, or response time).
- Direct, review and schedule the testing and implementation of network wide changes within the Network Team.
- Evaluate performance related issues as it affects WAN and LAN services, and adjusts the network to resolve performance problems.
- Develop and maintain update documentation, including but not limited to, complete WAN and LAN diagrams, wiring plans, network related hardware and software components, configurations, network addresses.
- Direct, review, coordinate and assist the Network Team member on all network systems, servers, desktop computers and configuration changes to ensure continuation of services.
- Monitor and report on network activity (i.e., network availability, network usage, hardware/software failures, resource allocation, and resource accounting.).
- Under the supervision of the IT Supervisor, coordinates work of others to develop, test, install and network policies, software and equipment.
- Design, plan, implement and maintain business & network security infrastructure.
- Monitor business & network security, report infractions, mitigate and remediate any security issues.
- Establish and maintain all servers and applications data backup process to ensure timely recovery of company data on a daily basis or disaster situation.
- Install, operations, upgrade, performance, and monitoring of the network and application servers – as well as security camera and building security systems.
- Utilize and initiate proper change management to announce and avoid business related interruption of production or services to customers.
- Responsible to recommend, develop and enforcement of Network hardware and software configuration standards and policies.
- Responsible to maintain the inventory of server related software and hardware.

- Perform other related additional responsibilities as assigned.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor degree in Computer Science or MIS is preferred. Ten years of Network Administrator experience preferred.
Five years data communications and networking experience with a thorough knowledge of:
- Local Area Network, Wide Area Network, Internet, and Intranet
- Network topology and network protocols
- Cabling Systems
- Network equipment and Network Diagnostic tools
- Network troubleshooting techniques
- Desktop Operating systems, peripheral and hardware
- Windows Network Operating Systems
