Position Title

Test Automation & Software Engineer

Active - FULL TIME REGULAR

Round Rock, TX, US

TECO-Westinghouse is looking for a software engineer to help us make our vision a reality. You’ll be part of the Test Department, but will also work with many other departments while completing your work.

We have a long-term vision for this position that will require an experienced software engineer with skills including:

  • A basic understanding of and ability to programmatically communicate with test instrumentation
  • Automation and control of equipment and processes
  • SQL databases
  • User interface design
  • Client-server architecture

Initially, your primary projects will be:

  • Development of a client server test system database which will:
  1. Provide design data and test requirements to personnel
  2. Log and record test data
  3. Interface with capable test instruments to control and acquire data
  4. Generate product test reports
  5. Perform a variety of statistical analysis operations
  • Creation of a new shop floor living document system to provide instructions to the factory floor.
  1. This system will be updated live by those creating instructions and those performing the work
  2. Updates will be displayed in real-time
  3. A formatted document containing all of the information, changes, audit history, etc. can be printed at any time
  • Create custom data acquisition systems with hardware and software for a variety of tests
  • Create a variety of test automation systems to control tests, collect data, create reports, etc.

You’ll have significant freedom in what you utilize for development and how you complete your projects. While we’re accustomed to National Instruments LabVIEW, we understand languages like C++ and Python have significant capabilities.

Mechanical Design Engineer II

POSITION SUMMARY

The Mechanical Design Engineering II assumes engineering responsibility for specific design and/or development phases of Company’s products; including design, verification, implementation, validation, and production support. Individuals in this role may be required to perform a combination of planning and directing activities concerned with development, application, and maintenance of quality system elements for the manufacture of products. The ability to create complex parametric and non-parametric 3D models, detailed product drawings, drawings revision, bills of material, detailed product design layouts, schematics and other documents necessary to build the product according to customer specifications and performance requirements is essential.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Creates and reviews parametric and non-parametric 3D models, detailed product drawings, drawing revisions, bill of materials, detailed product design layouts, schematics and other documents necessary to build the product in a timely manner as required by product build schedule.

  • Interfaces daily with engineering on technical issues about drawing requests, changes and application data. Creates and modify drawings in CAD and PDF.
  • Conducts calculations and analysis using closed-form methods, computer applications and fully functional FEA and other simulation tools. Develops some calculation tools for specific problems.
  • Supports sales department by providing technical input to negotiations of standard products.
  • Supports other departments and customers by addressing technical questions under general design guidelines.
  • Communicates with the factories in order to keep our product information up-to-date and fulfill customer requests.
  • Provides technical support and post-sales support on project business and Mod orders.
  • Develops product training materials and assist with developing team.
  • Supports QA and Test arenas with customers and provide certifications in QA.
  • Resolves of product questions and quality.
  • Providing technical support of both internal and external customers in the form of answering daily questions, drawings, performance data and curves, application assistance and part on our stock products.
  • Handles complaints and develop resolutions on product quality issues and QA.
  • Handles submittals for project orders and Mod orders.
  • Identify replacement components when there are supply chain issues or concerns.
  • Identify more cost effective and efficient components to replace current components.
  • Design within the compliance of UL and keep up to date with the new regulations.
  • Simulate structural and thermal elements.
  • Regular attendance is an essential function of this position.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree (B.S.) from four-year college or university in Engineering or Physical Science with one to three years of related work experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • One to three years of experience using relevant CAD, PDM and/or simulation software.
  • One to three years of experience using applicable industry standards.

Senior Engineer

POSITION SUMMARY

Assume engineering responsibility for meeting the objectives of several specific design and/or development phases of Company’s products; including design, verification, implementation, validation, and production support. This is to be accomplished with only general directions from more senior engineers or Engineering Manager.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Conduct product design and development following general design guidelines and tools including CAD programs, and developing design methods utilizing established standards.

  • Conduct calculations and analysis using closed-form methods, computer applications and fully functional FEA and other simulation tools. Develop calculation tools and computer applications for broad use.
  • Support sales department by providing technical input to negotiations of non-standard products based on reference designs.
  • Support other departments and customers by addressing technical questions sometimes not covered under general design guidelines.
  • Review drawings, schematics, bills of material and other documentation necessary manufacture, test, install and commission products.
  • Build proficiency and body of knowledge covering more than one product family and more than one engineering field and applications.
  • Create and enhance several design guidelines by leveraging own experience and technical learning.
  • Prepare engineering reports covering topics or issues involving various products or technical fields, with contribution from various individuals. Some reports may be distributed outside the company.
  • Assist in the development of new products by creating specifications, designing prototypes, devising and reviewing test data, and preparing supporting documentation.
  • Conduct project feasibility and cost analysis.
  • Provide input pertaining to time and resources required to execute tasks in the preparation of project schedules, and prepare schedules for portions of projects.
  • Execute tasks according to orders or project schedules, striving for 100% on-time completion. Monitor execution of several tasks assigned to more junior team members. Provide timely reports on project status.
  • Lead product improvement, standardization, productivity improvement, cost reduction and cycle time reduction initiatives.
  • Provide direction to disposition to non-conformances and lead engineering response to corrective actions based on general design guidelines.
  • Review work of designers and engineers with less experience and provide mentorship.
  • Review product compliance to company standards, customer requirements, industry standards and regulations.
  • Lead the preparation of technical papers and provide input to invention disclosures.
  • Represents the Company before customers and at technical conferences in support of marketing and sales.
  • Compliance with all Company policies is required, including adherence to Company ISO 9001 Standards and compliance with Company Affirmative Action Plan and Company Safety procedures.
  • Compliance with applicable Company policies concerning maintaining a drug free workplace is required.

  • Professional certification or license preferred.
  • Five to eight years of experience using relevant CAD, PDM and/or simulation software.
  • Three to five years of experience using applicable industry standards.
  • Experience writing technical papers.

REASONING ABILITY

IT Systems Administrator

POSITION SUMMARY

Under general direction of the Director of Information Technology, the purpose of this position is to provide technical guidance, and subject matter expert role in implementing, administrating and maintaining services to support TECO-Westinghouse. This person serves as the subject matter expert to others employees in the support of systems operations as well as network and desktop computer support with a focus on Customer Support. This is a Technical level position, and involves substantial responsibility for the overall health, operations, and security of all computer networks and servers on TECO-Westinghouse systems. It is the expectation that this position will be able to plan for and solve the most complex server issues that may face the Company. This position works closely with the IT Network Administrators and Desktop Support Specialists to give those positions assistance in fulfilling their respective responsibilities to keep all computer operations functioning company-wide. Responsibilities also include but not limited to the installation, operations, upgrade, performance, and monitoring of the network and application servers – as well as security camera and building security systems.

SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Plans, designs, monitors, upgrades and troubleshoots server and storage systems with working knowledge of VCenter/VMWare, physical servers, cloud based systems and network storage and SAN systems such as Dell/EMC/Compellent

  • Support VMWare for the enterprise level configurations including understanding of VMWare clusters, VMotion, DRS automation, reporting and related functions
  • Designs, supports and monitors server level backups (CA ArcServ/D2D/UDP) and supports disaster recovery procedures
  • Installs, maintain and troubleshoot servers running all Microsoft server levels (Supported and unsupported)
  • Provides Support for MS Exchange , Office 365 as well as the ability to script complexity with Powershell and advanced outlook configurations
  • Configures and monitors of security systems related to servers systems (SOPHOS Central Ant-virus, Malware software and SaaS, spyware, web-filtering and spam filtration for hardware and applications)
  • Works with peers to develop a document hardware/software standards and integration strategies
  • Recommends, coordinates, and performs evaluations of vendor software
  • Coordinates and performs all server installation activities
  • Perform local area network administration functions
  • Interfaces with users, consultants, technical teams, and vendors for maximum guidance in determining the appropriate type of hardware installation
  • Develops and monitors appropriate security procedures to safeguard system from physical harm and viruses, unauthorized users, and damage to all data
  • Performs maintenance and testing on server and mission critical application software, to include but not limited to software patches and updates, to provide enhanced capabilities, ensure proper performance and server availability
  • Assists Network Engineer in support to end users in desktop/laptop hardware and software support for all TECO-Westinghouse environments
  • Troubleshoots and solves the most complex network connectivity problems, including monitoring the network and servers for problems, diagnosing problems, and taking the appropriate corrective measures to ensure an expedient resolution
  • Installs, administers, supports, and maintains server hardware, peripherals, software, and operating systems
  • Responding to incoming calls, e-mails, or pages regarding network operations and/or problems
  • Assists in planning for the future strategy of networks and servers, and providing budgetary information as needed
  • This role requires being on call on evenings and weekends on a rotational basis
  • Performs other duties as assigned

SCOPE PURPOSE AND FREQUENCY OF CONTACTS

Frequent contact with personnel in user departments to determine, evaluate and resolve user problems; to gain information about the future needs and desires for planning purposes; and to communicate to them the schedules, plans and status of the IT department and all work.

QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Bachelor degree required in Computer science, engineering or other technical discipline, Server system operational training, or at least ten years of experience in Server support services – including experience with the most complex and difficult server issues - with a demonstrated ability to solve the most complex Server/networking systems issues. Course work in computers and information systems may be substituted for experience. College, business school or specialized training is preferable. Any equivalent combination of experience and training which insures ability to perform the work will be considered.


Good problem solving and remediation skills. Ability to work well independently and part of a team with minimal supervision. Strong customer service skills and the ability to multitask. Good oral, written and documentation skills. Ability to support and mentor junior level staff and communicate with end users on a daily basis. Available and able to be on-call on a rotational basis. Previous experience in help desk environment and associated ticketing software.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Strong understanding of SaaS services, applications and cloud based services
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory, DNS, DHCP and Group Policy configurations
  • Knowledge and understanding of LAN/WAN protocols and troubleshooting skills related to the networking connectivity of all supported devices

POSITION SUMMARY

Junior member in manufacturing team. Assembles rotor and stator cores, control wheels or other assemblies by reading and interpreting specifications, assembly drawings and outline drawings and bills of materials. Checks dimensions using appropriate measuring devices. Performs small precision assembly and assembly of large units as required. Fabricates or modifies parts or structures according to specifications, using drills, calipers, micrometers, cutters, saws, welders and torches. Completes documentation and maintains traceability records. Uses drawings and/or bill of material to pull correct parts for the assembly process. Performs assignments with minimal direction. Receives direction from the Team Leader or Supervisor. Assists more highly skilled team members.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Works in a variety of manufacturing areas to include machining, winding, coil and other assembly, painting, testing, and shipping.

  • Performs in process quality checks to include electrical testing, close tolerance measuring, and documentation.
  • Operates equipment and makes normal overhead crane lifts.
  • Reads and interprets complex manufacturing drawings and process specs.

POSITION SUMMARY

Assembles large electric motors per specifications, assembly drawings and motor outline drawings. Fabricates or modifies parts or subassemblies according to specifications, using hand tools, portable power tools and fixed machinery. Performs surface preparation and applies final paint finishes to completed product. Completes required quality documents and maintains traceability records, as required. POSITION SUMMARY

Intermediate member of a manufacturing team. Assembles rotor and stator cores, control wheels or other assemblies by reading and interpreting specifications, assembly drawings and outline drawings and bills of materials. Checks dimensions using appropriate measuring devices. Performs small precision assembly and assembly of large units as required. Fabricates or modifies parts or structures according to specifications, using drills, calipers, micrometers, cutters, saws, welders and torches. POSITION SUMMARY

Supervises one or more TECO-Westinghouse manufacturing department(s). Responsibilities include management of assigned areas of plant, scheduling and directing the daily activities of manufacturing personnel as needed to accomplish short and long term manufacturing objectives, communicating product status, and driving improvements in cost, quality, cycle time and productivity.

Manages all resources allocated to assigned manufacturing area(s). Coordinates closely with other department supervisors, engineering, purchasing, planning, and other support functions as required to ensure quality, cost and schedule objectives are met.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Promote safe work habits and ensure employee compliance with all safety policies.

  • Promote and maintain quality workmanship and product.
  • Manage overtime utilization, and re-allocate or share resources with other departments as needed to maintain overall factory balance between workload and labor capacity, in order to minimize cost while maintaining schedule.
  • Resolve quality, productivity and methods issues. Recommend process changes when needed or when beneficial to product quality, production efficiency, or safety.
  • Implement and coordinate productivity improvement projects.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly shop in assigned areas.
  • Maintain a disciplined work force.
  • Assure on time delivery of product.
  • Recommend and plan weekly overtime activities based on customer requirements and budget constraints.
  • Support field service activities on and off site, when required.
  • Train subordinates. Ensure team members receive training and that performance meets established manufacturing and quality standards.
  • Communicate status of customer orders.
  • Manage expense budgets of assigned area(s).
  • With the assistance of others, investigate manufacturing errors or in-process failures, determine root cause / corrective action, and develop an effective recovery plan.
  • Regular attendance is an essential requirement of this position.

POSITION SUMMARY

Under general direction of the IT Supervisor, the purpose of this position is to provide technical guidance, and subject matter expert role in Engineering, administrating and maintaining services to support TECO-Westinghouse. This role serves as a lead technical advisor to others employees in the support of systems operations as well as network and desktop computer support with a focus on Customer Support. This is a Senior Technical level position, and involves substantial responsibility for the overall health, operations, and security of all computer networks and servers on TECO-Westinghouse systems. It is the expectation that this position will be able to plan for and solve the most complex Networking issues that may face the Company. In this role, you will work closely assisting with the IT Supervisor, Technical staff and Desktop Support Specialist in fulfilling their respective responsibilities to keep all computer, servers and network appliances and applications functioning company-wide.

SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide technical direction and support of project development and/or maintenance of systems.

  • Provide technical direction on day-to-day activities in the Network Team.
  • In-depth knowledge of routing protocols.
  • In-depth knowledge of LAN/WAN communications, network hardware such as Device routers, Ethernet switches, bridges, gateways and firewalls.
  • Strong understanding and practical experience with technologies such as SDWAN, and Traffic Engineering.
  • Plan, coordinate, and implement network security measures in order to protect data, software, and hardware
  • Prepare technical proposals for presentation to the IT Supervisor and management for adding new technologies to the network
  • Review user requests for upgrades or additions to the network to assess impact on network performance and provide advice and guidance on the most practical technical approach to meeting user requirements
  • Utilize complex network analysis tools to identify and correct problems in the network
  • Prepare troubleshooting procedures for restoring the network to optimal performance levels
  • Respond, isolate, and resolve network troubles by monitoring alarms and alerts to identify network elements causing network degradation or failure
  • Maintain logs and records associated with reported problems or situations
  • Assess and document current site network configuration and user requirements utilizing Visio, Microsoft Project, or other network diagramming software.
  • Assist IS staff and end-users with technical support of network related activities to meet operational requirements.
  • Design, plan, implement, and maintain company wide area networks, local area networks, Internet and Intranet, email systems, firewalls, routers, switches, desktop systems and network infrastructure.
  • Install, configure, maintain, and administer all network related software and hardware products.
  • Design, plan, implement and maintain company LAN cabling systems to ensure efficiency, effectiveness and timely delivery of services to meet business requirement.
  • Evaluate network software products, hardware components, and procedures to provide technical recommendations.
  • Diagnose technical problems using problem determination, analysis, resolution methods and network diagnostic tools to provide timely resolution to network problems (hardware, software, or response time).
  • Direct, review and schedule the testing and implementation of network wide changes within the Network Team.
  • Evaluate performance related issues as it affects WAN and LAN services, and adjusts the network to resolve performance problems.
  • Develop and maintain update documentation, including but not limited to, complete WAN and LAN diagrams, wiring plans, network related hardware and software components, configurations, network addresses.
  • Direct, review, coordinate and assist the Network Team member on all network systems, servers, desktop computers and configuration changes to ensure continuation of services.
  • Monitor and report on network activity (i.e., network availability, network usage, hardware/software failures, resource allocation, and resource accounting.).
  • Under the supervision of the IT Supervisor, coordinates work of others to develop, test, install and network policies, software and equipment.
  • Design, plan, implement and maintain business & network security infrastructure.
  • Monitor business & network security, report infractions, mitigate and remediate any security issues.
  • Establish and maintain all servers and applications data backup process to ensure timely recovery of company data on a daily basis or disaster situation.
  • Install, operations, upgrade, performance, and monitoring of the network and application servers – as well as security camera and building security systems.
  • Utilize and initiate proper change management to announce and avoid business related interruption of production or services to customers.
  • Responsible to recommend, develop and enforcement of Network hardware and software configuration standards and policies.
  • Responsible to maintain the inventory of server related software and hardware.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Bachelor degree in Computer Science or MIS is preferred. Ten years of Network Administrator experience preferred.

Quality Technician I

POSITION SUMMARY

Perform all inspection activities to include:
  • Source or incoming inspection, verification and testing on purchased products/services including raw materials, machined parts, subassemblies and completed products.
  • In-process inspection, verification and testing on machined parts, subassemblies and assemblies.
  • Final product inspection to include marking, preservation, and packaging for shipment.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Implement inspection and test activities defined by Quality/Project Control Plans.

  • Data and document control of drawings, specifications and work instructions.
  • Verify product identification and tractability.
  • Verify implementation of process control activities and provide process improvement input to those activities including work instructions, process specifications, process monitoring, maintaining equipment and environmental conditions, and personnel qualifications.
  • Verify and maintain inspection and test status of product during all phases of manufacturing including source, receiving, in-process, final, shipping and storage.
  • Inspection, verification and testing for warranty and repair work.
  • Perform product and process audits to assure conformance to specification requirements.
  • Apply measuring techniques and data collection to support the application of statistical methods in manufacturing, engineering and quality areas.
  • Train and qualify operators and/or inspection personnel.
SCOPE, PURPOSE, AND FREQUENCY OF CONTACTS
  • The position requires daily contact with all levels of TWMC and customers including Engineering, Marketing, Factory Operations, Supply Chain, Service and Accounting.
QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform the assigned essential duties satisfactorily and provide direction to inspectors and operators. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawing/process specification requirements as necessary to perform visual, dimensional, nondestructive and special process type inspection.
  • Ability to use all available measuring equipment and standards to evaluate dimensional and geometric product characteristics.
  • Ability to develop PC based information programs which allow input and retrieve of appropriate quality information.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE One of the following bullets must be met for education and experience.
  • Associate’s degree (AA) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school and three (3) years inspection experience using equipment, methods and standards appropriate to the manufacture of motors and generators, or
  • One year certificate from college or technical school and four (4) years inspection experience using equipment, methods and standards appropriate to the manufacture of motors and generators.
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and seven (7) years inspection experience using equipment, methods and standards appropriate to the manufacture of motors and generators.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS Individuals must be able to perform the duties of the job at a level as generally prescribed and learned by attaining credentials that include one of the following bullets below.
  • ASQ Certified Quality Technician (CQT)
  • ASQ Certified Mechanical Inspector (CMI) and AWS Certified Weld Inspector (CWI)

POSITION SUMMARY

Performs machining operations using mills or lathes on medium to large components to close tolerances. May operate lathes, vertical turret lathes, vertical boring machines, horizontal boring machines or grinders. CNC programming / editing experience is required. Solves complex mechanical and machining problems without supervision and implements machining plans. Designs, fabricates, and utilizes a variety of jigs and fixtures for non-standard machining processes. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Works in highly specialized manufacturing area to include machining. Performs close tolerance machining and assembly with an above average mechanical aptitude. Demonstrates the ability to solve complex manufacturing/product related problems.
  • Operates equipment and makes complex overhead crane lifts in a safe manner.
  • Performs set-ups and operates horizontal and vertical boring mills, as well as conventional and numerical control mills and lathes. Able to work with rotating machinery. Operates multiple machines including Vertical Turning Lathe and Horizontal Boring Mill.
  • Able to read and interpret drawings and read and troubleshoot machine code and programs. Some programming knowledge is beneficial.
  • Oversees product quality by understanding product design and processes. Questions requirements that fall outside normal standards. Suggests product improvements.
  • Sets standards of excellence for peers through deeds and actions. Trains/assists team members to develop improved manufacturing skills and techniques.
  • Works in a safe and efficient method while maintaining a clean work area.
  • Meets or exceeds times set for standard jobs. Understands feed speeds as related to the machines and material being processed to optimize the machine.
  • Performs quality work and exhibits pride in his/her efforts to manufacture to customer and TWMC standards.

Human Resource Manager

Active - FULL TIME REGULAR Round Rock, TX US

POSITION SUMMARY

Perform a variety of tasks in fulfilling main responsibility, which is leading the organization’s Human Resources programs and policies as they apply to employee relations, compensation, benefits, performance and recruiting levels. Oversee the Human Resources department activities and staff for TECO-Westinghouse Motor Company (TWMC) and TECO-Westinghouse Motors (Canada) Inc. (TWMI) and TECO-Westinghouse Motor Company S.A. de C.V. (TWMM). ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Direct the creation and update of human resources policies by formulating, interpreting and recommending HR procedures, preparing and maintaining Employee Handbooks, keeping current on legislative changes and regulations concerning human resources for the US and Canada.
  • Manage the HR team in regards to benefits coordination, wellness plans, recruitment and placement, and staff training and development. Manage and consult with external partners and legal counsel as needed when performing HR duties.
  • Support HR activities initiated by the parent and affiliate companies and participate in Corporate Social Responsibility project with the parent company.
  • Conduct employee training and orientation, administer benefits program, compensation analysis and other competitive data and prepare budgets.
  • Resolve employee relations, costs, and performance management concerns with management. Keep organizations compliant with federal, state and local labor laws and regulations.
  • Promote healthy relationships between staff and management through mediation, handling labor disputes and guiding department managers through employee issues.
  • Maintain competitive stance regarding pay and benefits by administering wage and salary policies, setting pay structure(s), monitoring performance appraisals to ensure effectiveness, compliance, and equity within organization and merit increase programs.
  • Supervise the application of established Human Resources policies in employee relations; wage and salary administration; employment; benefits administration; training; EEO/AA; and HRIS.
  • Manage work permit or immigration matters for foreign nationality employees including necessary work visas (H1B, L, E, TN) and requests for permanent residency. Manage international assignment or cross-state relocations.
  • Perform a leadership role in recruiting, interviews, and selection of employees to fill vacant positions. Coordinate management training in interviewing, hiring, terminations, promotions, performance review, safety, and sexual harassment.
  • Design and oversee records of benefits plans and administration such as insurance and 401(K), personnel transactions such as hires, promotions, transfers, performance reviews, terminations, and employee statistics for government reporting.
  • Oversee the preparation of employee separation notices and related documentation, and conducting exit interviews to determine reasons behind separations.
  • Represent organization at personnel-related hearings and investigations.
  • Regular attendance is an essential function of this position.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES Perform managing responsibilities of the HR department in carrying out the duties mentioned above.   • Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university in Business Administration or Human Resources, and minimum ten years HR experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • PHR/SPHR/SHRM-CP,/ SCP or GPHR certification preferred.
  • Broad knowledge and experience in employment law, compensation, organizational planning, organizational development, employee relations, and safety.
  • Manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Previous experience in international companies, manufacturing, and companies with 200+ employees preferred.
  • Management experience required.
  • Ability to manage and support remote employees and companies.

REASONING ABILITY Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
