Power Electronics Services Engineering Manager

POSITION SUMMARY

• Participates in the design phase of the medium voltage drives to be better situated and understand the scope of the project for a smooth transition to the start-up and commissioning phase.
• Plans and conducts commissioning and field testing of medium voltage drives.
• Provides engineering guidance, support and training to operation and maintenance personnel related to the use, operation and repair of medium voltage drives.
• Prepares repair plans and associated design documents. Specifies materials, processes, and test requirements.
• Troubleshoots, repairs and inspects medium voltage drives and associated equipment.
• Reviews product event logs to identify faults. Uses the log information to identify and propose corrective actions and product improvements, and check product performance.

• Conducts on-site training related to the proper maintenance, operation and storage medium voltage drives.
• Participates as the primary technical advisor at customer locations during field projects.
• Supports training of users. Actively participates in creating all user documentation including instruction manuals.
• Actively supports new product design by reviewing changes and concepts before the drawings are released for production.
• Participates in testing within the lab and working within Power Electronics team.
• Assists in the development of engineers with less experience.
• Identifies, and resolves field problems through coordination of appropriate TWMC personnel, outside organizations and the customer’s technical team.
• Monitors the work scope and controls costs of field work performed. Communicates any additional or expanded scope of work to the Service inside sales team for commercial evaluation.
• Coordinates and communicates with factory operations on repairs or other corrective actions required at factory in Round Rock.
• Participates as technical advisor to the Service BU during commercial negotiations with the customer.
• Gives technical guidance to customers on the feasibility of making repairs in field or shop.

• Experience with loading software into printed circuit boards and changing software parameters on products.
• Familiar with using test equipment such as scopes, meters, sensors, etc. and taking measurements with instrumentation in the field.
• Understanding of noise, dv/dt, di/dt, common mode, isolation, and grounding best practices.

• Familiar with V/Hz, Vector, and Sensorless Vector. Experience with Synchronous motor control a plus.

Accountant Sr II

POSITION SUMMARY

• Review existing accounting financial systems and procedures and implement remedial measures, if necessary. Develop and implement new accounting and financial analysis procedures in accordance with GAAP and IFRS standards.
• Develop, review or implement new procedures, methods, systems and techniques for processing financial data. Insure adequate controls and utilization of the latest and best accounting principles.
• Advise accounting management of the latest business costs and trends, and prepare and issue reports concerning such costs and trends to insure that financial objectives are met.
• Generate and convert financial data into report form through the use of computer software. Reports include divisional, company, or consolidated financial statements on a monthly and annual basis.
• Assist in the preparation of costing rates used to develop product costs and establish standards or objectives.
• Develop and maintain strategic planning models to support the business growth
• Facilitate and review monthly forecast collaboration meeting with business partners

Quality Technician II

POSITION SUMMARY

Coordinate all inspection activities to include:

• Source or incoming inspection, verification and testing on purchased products/services including raw materials, machined parts, sub-assemblies and completed products.
• In-process inspection, verification and testing on machined parts, sub-assemblies and assemblies.
• Final product inspection to include marking, preservation, and packaging for shipment.
• Assisting with the administration of the program for control and calibration of inspection, measuring, and test equipment.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

• Implement inspection and test activities defined by Quality/Project Control Plans.
• Data and document control of drawings, specifications and work instructions.
• Verify product identification and tractability.
• Verify implementation of process control activities and provide process improvement input to those activities including work instructions, process specifications, process monitoring, maintaining equipment and environmental conditions, and personnel qualifications.
• Verify and maintain inspection and test status of product during all phases of manufacturing including source, receiving, in-process, final, shipping and storage.
• Inspection, verification and testing for warranty and repair work.
• Perform product and process audits to assure conformance to specification requirements.
• Apply measuring techniques and data collection to support the application of statistical methods in manufacturing, engineering and quality areas.
• Train and qualify operators and/or inspection personnel.

SCOPE, PURPOSE, AND FREQUENCY OF CONTACTS

• The position requires daily contact with all levels of TECO-Westinghouse Motor Company (TWMC) and customers including Engineering, Marketing, Factory Operations, Supply Chain, Service and Accounting.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Create and review parametric and non-parametric 3D models, detailed product drawings, drawing revisions, bill of materials, detailed product design layouts, schematics and other documents necessary to build the product in a timely manner as required by product build schedule.
• Support product development by generating and reviewing models, layouts, sketches and related documentation necessary to determine product functionality and feasibility.

Project Administrator II

POSITION SUMMARY

Manage and oversee projects and sales orders as assigned to ensure that all contractual obligations are satisfactorily completed resulting in customer satisfaction and prompt payment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Obtain and gather all necessary information to enter the TECO-WESTINGHOUSE (TWMC) sales and shop order into the operating systems and confirm the Customer scope of supply (SOS).
• Follow all order entry procedures as defined in the appropriate procedures provided.
• Create and maintain a project jacket, in the required format, for each assigned project/sales order in the pre-defined Document Repository for TWMC departmental use and posterity.
• Determine the factory location of manufacturing (i.e. Taiwan, China, or Texas).
• Review Customer supplied documents to confirm TWMC compliance, or markup and return to the Sales Application Specialist for endorsement of scope.
• Determine "order/project status" and follow all held (HMDA, CUST, etc.) shop orders to release job(s) to manufacturing to meet customer and/or site requirements.
• Create purchase requisitions for ordering motors, equipment and parts, and submit to vendor, for items not manufactured at TWMC Round Rock, TX.
• Hold, attend and/or request contract / design review meetings with internal and external partners to establish the SOS.
• Identify and maintain consistent engagement with the Customer Order Representative (COR) regarding submission of drawings / documents, design, manufacturing, planned ship date(s), and inspections, witness or virtual witness test requirements when applicable.
• Administer the delivery of customer furnished items to the appropriate factory when required.
• Immediately notify Field Sales and COR regarding shipment date deviations that are not related to customer changes to the scope.
• When COR requests changes to the SOS, negotiate price, revised submittals, contract date changes.
• Enter and process all changes to the SOS through a Syteline change notice.
• Coordinate with COR and TWMC’s Planning, Design Center, Operations, and Test Departments on all rescheduled test and/or shipment dates.
• Confirm all software required in the SOS has been submitted to the COR prior to shipment.
• Host Customers, Users, and/or their Representatives, during in-process or final inspections, and in-process or final witness testing.
• Prior to shipment contact COR to obtain approval to ship, establish if special documents/tagging is required, and coordinate the shipment, delivery address, contact name/number, and hours of receiving for successful delivery and receipt.
• Coordinate with internal partners (i.e. Logistics, Planning, QA, Finance, etc.) to verify that any shortages and suspension items are recognized.
• Train and assist Junior Project Administrators.

Principal Power Electronics Engineer

POSITION SUMMARY

Assume engineering responsibility for meeting the objectives and coordination of several specific design and/or development phases of Company’s products; including methodology, design, verification, implementation, validation, and production support. This is to be accomplished with only general directions from a Chief Engineer or Engineering Manager.

SPECIFIC POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

• Designing medium voltage variable frequency drives. Generating block diagrams, wiring diagrams, schematics, component specifications, and BOM’s to support the design and documentation process.
• Identifies, specifies, and selects components such as diodes, IGBT’s, gate drivers, laminated buses, film/electrolytic capacitors, inductors, reactors, transformers, semiconductor fuses, transient absorbers, power supplies, contactors, and other components typically used in power electronics applications.
• Designs power electronics packaging using knowledge of high voltage insulation design. Familiarity with dielectric strength of materials, creepage and clearance distances, gap breakdown, corona, and partial discharge. Familiarity with NEMA enclosures and NEC design standards and the use of GPO3 material in the construction of high voltage electrical assemblies. Familiarity with the design of high current bus bars and connections.
• Selection, testing, and implementation of new components and electronic assemblies, including connectors and wiring harnesses.
• Works with mechanical engineers to integrate electrical designs into the production drawing package.
• Troubleshoots electrical problems in lab, factory floor, and/or field. Extended travel to customer site installations is occasionally required.
• Performs lab tests and generates lab reports. Develops and supports test fixtures and documentation for prototype and production testing.
• Performs medium voltage drive power sizing studies in the range of 2.3 kV through 13.8 kV for applications up to 10,000 hp. Recognizes and protects against electrical hazards.
• Designs electronic control of machines. Understands machine principles such as inrush, overload, magnetizing current, torque, rpm, harmonics, poles, power, horsepower, and other operational parameters.
• Assists on a team in developing control algorithms and/or strategies for power systems. Designs inverter control including electronic protection alarm and trips; current, voltage, and other feedback loops; customer interface; parameter types and limits; and communication links.
• Assists in designs for control for variable torque, constant torque, and regenerative applications. Assists in design of V/Hz and Vector types of control.
• Works with 3-phase power distribution systems. Specifies switchgear, transformers, conductors, and other components typically used for variable frequency drive systems operating with voltages up to 13.8 kV.
• Ensures variable frequency designs meet applicable codes and standards. Knowledge of UL testing and certification process. Familiarity with high pot testing of systems, sub-systems and components. Generation of UL test procedures, reports and other support documentation.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provide technical leadership in projects related to power electronics.
• Direct the development of new products and systems by coordinating the creation of specifications, prototype design, creation and execution of validation tests, reviewing and preparing supporting documentation.
• Conduct and direct system design and development, establishing new design guidelines and tools and occasionally developing design methods outside established standards.
• Create and enhance design guidelines by leveraging own experience and technical learning, and engaging subject matter experts.

International Logistics & Compliance Manager

• Negotiate freight contracts for ground, air, and ocean shipments.   Ensure inbound and outbound freight costs are well controlled and minimized.
• Effectively recruit, lead, and train staff for inventory management, shipping and other logistics-related processes, as needed to support daily operations.
