Warranty Administrator

POSITION SUMMARY

Administer and resolve after-market warranty issues on all motors manufactured for and by TECO-Westinghouse in Round Rock and Taiwan. Review drawings and factory test reports in order to support customers with technical questions related to the maintenance and performance of motors.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Enforce contractual warranty terms and conditions.
• Identify, collect and resolve field problems through coordination of appropriate TECO-Westinghouse personnel and/or outside organizations.
• As required, establish daily contact with all levels of TECO-Westinghouse:  Field Sales, Contracts, Engineering, Marketing, Factory Operations, Service Division, Traffic, Accounting and Treasury.
• Research warranty claims in order to justify cost and determine where cost should be allocated.
• Read TECO-Westinghouse drawings and wiring diagrams in order to support customers and subcontractors with information needed in the repair of electric motors.
• Review test performance data and process specifications to support customers and subcontractors with information needed in the repair of electric motors.
• Coordinate field coverage for inspection and/or repairs of motors through factory personnel or outside consultants.
• Provide guidance to customers on advisability of making repairs in field or sending motor to local shop or feasibility of returning motor to TECO-Westinghouse to repair.
• Negotiate with repair shops on work to be performed in the field or in the shop and monitor scope and cost of field work performed by customer, contractor or agents.
• Coordinate with customer return of motors to TECO-Westinghouse for repairs when necessary. Work with Factory Operations and Service Division to resolve warranty issues on these motors and follow through to completion.
• Issue requisitions for materials required to resolve field problems and follow to completion.
• Coordinate the shipment of ship-short items, installation of items at customer site and closing the EAN.
• On warranty parts:  request and obtain parts, have them inspected and shipped to the field. If needed contract outside source to install at customer site.
• Coordinate and communicate with factory operations on repairs or other corrective actions required at the factory in Round Rock and Taiwan.
• Update and post Field Assistance Report (FAR) Database records.
• Travel to installation sites to investigate and/or resolve field problems

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university, preferred; or two to four years related experience and/or training in motor manufacturing or motor repair service industry; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  Computer knowledge required.  Microsoft Office proficiency is a must.

• Help to define requirements for motor control software, and firmware to interface with hardware components including voltage and current sensors, speed encoders, etc.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Service Shop Technician performs various tasks related to large electric motor repair, including visual inspection, measurement, testing, cleaning, disassembly, component repair or replacement, and re-assembly after repair. Work is normally performed on-premise, within the shop environment, although there may be occasional need/opportunity to travel in support of field service work.

Work is performed in accordance with established work instructions, specifications, and project specific work plans. Assignments are expected to be performed with general direction, and are received from a Team Leader or Supervisor. The individual will also assist more highly skilled team members and will assist and train lower level team members.

POSITION SUMMARY

Assists with shipping and receiving of inventory in a warehouse environment. Compiles records concerned with cycle count, receiving, storing, issuing and other miscellaneous. Conduct inventory transactions.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

• Ensure data integrity within SAP system, performs shipping, receiving and inventory transactions. Updates cycle count program as needed or requested, researches inventory discrepancies and reports findings to Inventory Control Specialist.
• Ensures that all daily shipping, receiving and inventory transactions are done real time.
• Works closely with RR in reporting receiving discrepancies regarding containers from Taiwan and Stock transfers from other locations.
• Prepare shipping docs such as: Packing lists, bill of lading, airway bills and shipping labels.
• Maintain daily shipping log to ensure all requested orders are shipped the same day.
• Inputs all shipping charges and tracking numbers the next morning, for tractability purposes.
• Unloads/loads trucks and containers. Maintains neat and clean warehouse. Uses FIFO (first in, first out) inventory method to ensure oldest motors and parts are shipped first.
• Ensures that containers from Taiwan are unloaded, verified and moved to proper location expeditiously and SAP is updated.
• Follows company's carrier routing guide based mode transportation, trust time and destination. Adheres to customer's routing requests.
• Schedules trucks for daily shipments.
• Follows corporate guidelines in selection and use of Common and Airfreight carriers
• Runs daily transaction reports to ensure all daily transactions are posted correctly.
• Negotiate and buy tools and other shop supplies and services required to support shipping activities (with approval).
• Monitor the maintenance of warehouse equipment.
• Assist Branch Coordinators in modification process.
• This position may be required to fulfill regular on-call responsibilities as detailed in the TECO-Westinghouse On-Call Pay Policy.
• Support Customer Service to answer phones, check stock, prepare orders and track orders as needed.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

• Daily communication with the factories in order to keep our product information up-to-date and fulfill customer requests.

• Daily technical support and post-sales support on project business and Mod orders.
• Interface daily with engineering on technical issues about drawing requests, changes and application data. Create and modify drawings in CAD and PDF.
